XXI Traditional Dance camp
To promote traditional dances and dance club traditions, improve the skills of dancers and musicians as well as to develop and strengthen cooperation between traditional dance activists, Riga Folk Dance Club organizes a traditional dance camp and workshop.
The dance camp will be an opportunity to learn familiar and not so well-known Latvian, Estonian, Lithuanian, Russian, Belarusian, and other European traditional dances, as well as English long-way dances from the Jane Austen period, and take part in traditional singing. Musicians will be able to extend their skills in playing various instruments. Every night there will be a great dance party!
Especially invited to the camp are those who would like to establish their own dance clubs in schools, parishes or towns.

Kurmene is located in the southern part of Zemgale, about 90 km from Riga, near the border with Lithuania.
Arrival at the camp location and participant registration and settling in is from 23th August between 18:30 and 20:10.
Catering: 3 times a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for a total sum 15,50 Eur/per day. You will be asked to pay for catering at registration. For us to guarantee catering you need to register for the camp by 18th August, 22:00.

Participation fee if registered and pay until 7rd August: Eur 25,-
Participation fee if registered and pay until 18rd August: Eur 30,-
Participation fee if registered after 18rd August: Eur 40,-
Dance evening on 23 August 5 EUR, 23 August 10 EUR
Musicians have 100% discount on the participation fee.
50% discount for children up to 16 years of age.
Free entry for children under 12 years of age accompanied by their parents.
Children under 12 years of age accompanied by their parents can receive a 100% discount on the entry fee.
Participation fee includes all activities, dance evenings, accommodation in tents or the attic.
Additional costs: Catering fee.
It is possible to pay when registering at the camp or via bank transfer until 18rd August 2024.
Additional information: Participants who are under the age of 18 can take part in the camp only if accompanied by an adult (group leader, a parent or parent’s authorized person). All participants who are younger than 18 and are attending the camp without their parents or a guardian must submit the participant’s application together with a trust deed form.
